Small Town Pride

Founded in 2017 by Blake Furry, Furry Overhead Door has come a long way from its beginnings in Champaign, Illinois. Blake knew he liked the garage door scene when he started at the major garage door manufacturing business, C.H.I. Overhead Doors. Seeing the way doors were made and serviced in the factory, he wanted to branch out on his own and start a successful garage door company. His father being a business owner had a big influence on Blake, helping him start out and fully support his own local garage door company ambitions. He also learned early on starting in sales and working for his dad before C.H.I. how running a business should look like.

Thus, Furry Overhead Door started as a one-man show in the Charleston-Mattoon, IL area and Blake’s hometown before expanding to Champaign, IL.

Furry Overhead Door- Foley, Alabama Location

Furry Overhead Door launched a second location in Foley, Alabama a few years ago servicing near Foley, Gulf Shores and Spanish Fort, AL. All calls are directed to Sawyer Newell, the operations and service professional from Mobile, AL to Gulf Shores, AL. Growing up together, and operating as Blake’s right-hand man during the early days of Furry Overhead Door, Sawyer was promoted out of the service field, and into a manager’s role for their new Foley, AL location.

Now with the addition of a family of his own, Blake remains the sole owner of both locations in Illinois and Alabama.

Operating as a family unit, the Furry family supports each other’s goals and dreams to be the number one garage door service company to call when you need garage door repair, installation, or need a professional garage door company for an emergency. Blake’s brother Brandon started his own roofing business in Gulf Shores, AL, so check out another Furry site!
